As an avid admirer of Daughtry's music, I've always been drawn to the powerful resonance of his pop vocal style, particularly his emotive hard-hitting tracks. The depth of his musical range has continuously enthralled me, and I've often harbored the dream of collaborating with Chris and the band, albeit knowing it's a far-fetched aspiration.
The journey of the Daughtry REMIXES began with a serendipitous encounter. Amidst the release of his most recent album Baptized, I stumbled upon a "Stripped" version of a track, "Witness," previously unknown to me. Its poignant lyrics struck a chord, resonating deeply as I grappled with the loss of my brother. Yet, amidst the somber melody, my mind began to orchestrate a rendition imbued with the nostalgic essence of 80's power ballads.
Fuelled by inspiration, I retreated to my studio, determined to translate this vision into reality. Infused with cello, guitar, and thunderous drums, my rendition exudes an edgy allure, reminiscent of Daughtry's signature sound. Upon completion, I finally ventured to explore the album's original arrangement, only to be pleasantly surprised by its pop ballad rendition, a testament to the band's versatility.
The journey took an unexpected turn when I seized the opportunity to share my remix with the band during their visit to Baltimore. Meeting them backstage, I recounted the personal significance of my rendition. To my delight, Daughtry's keyboard player, Elvio Fernandes, extended his appreciation, describing the tracks as "cool" in a complimentary email, a cherished memento of the encounter.
